Native American culture & heritage exemplified by Ojibwe tribal members from the Lac du Flambeau and Red Cliff Reservations. Frank Montano, will display and share information on the history and craft of flute-making and playing. Lac du Flambeau Cultural Connections will accompany some of their school children in presenting a reader’s theater performance. Brian Jackson, Lac du Flambeau educator and Cultural Connections activist, will share in the program’s mission of developing students’ self-awareness through teaching and incorporating traditional values and language. Also from Lac du Flambeau, artisan, musician and award-winning educator, Wayne Valliere, along with three of his apprentices will create an interactive display of many handmade tools, implements and instruments including a birch bark canoe and much more. 5 hours of continuous ethnic music from polka to Ojibwe drums to Barbershop and Czech Singers. Food and beverage available.

Dance in the hay mow of an actual working farm to a variety of music provided by a DJ for young and old alike at this annual event. Gary Edinger will be calling square dancing; free lessons offered to beginners. Sit on benches and hay bales and enjoy refreshments of pie, ice cream, coffee and lemonade. A silent auction is held with bidding ending at 9:30pm. There is a handicapped-accessible ramp so everyone can attend. The Yesterday House, Liberty School and Machine Shed will be open to visitors all afternoon until 7pm. This is a fund-raiser for German Settlement History, Inc., for continued restoration of the Yesterday House, Liberty School and historic artifacts, photos, papers, and books related to the German Settlement.
