Located in the Flambeau River State Forest, this wide trail is very hilly with no major climbs and offers varying degrees of difficulty to challenge your skills but stay within your abilities. With views of the Flambeau River and heavily timbered landscape, this trail offers exceptional scenic enjoyment winding through a mixture of hardwoods and conifers and crossing three bridges. A three-sided shelter with a fire ring and picnic table is provided as a rest area on the west side of the upper loop.
A Wisconsin State Trail Pass is required for each person age 16 or older for cross-country skiing only. Both the daily state trail pass or an annual state trail pass can be purchased at the trailhead. You can also purchase state trail passes at the Flambeau River State Forest headquarters 715-332-5271 located at W1613 County Road W or any DNR service station 715-762-3204. A vehicle admission sticker is not required to park at the trailhead.

The trail is wide twin track. The trail is mowed periodically during the summer. Hiking and biking are not allowed while the trail is being groomed for cross-country skiing. If you’re looking for additional trails to explore, the adjacent ATV/UTV trail offers a generally hard-packed trail surface with some loose rock and sand.
Horseback riding is allowed.
This trail is the longest trail system in the Price County area and offers easy skiing in the first loop and the west half of the upper loop. Portions of the upper loop and cutoffs on the east side of the lower loop provide more challenge for the advanced and expert skiers. Groomed for both classic and skate skiing.
